Ministry of Agriculture Launches Training in Agricultural Value Chain

The Lagos State Ministry of Agriculture announces a- four-week agricultural training for Youth, Retirees, Entrepreneurs, Graduates, Retired Armed Forces, and School Leavers. The training will commence on 24 May, 2021 between the hours of 10am and 2pm. The focus is on the agricultural value chains, which include: Poultry, Crops, Pig, Fish, Cattle, Sheep and Goat, Snail, Rabbit / Grasscutter, Climate Change Impacts and Mitigation Action Strategies and Farm Management.

Lagos State certificates will be given to trainees that complete the training. Other benefits include linking trainees to relevant Agricultural Agencies such as Bank of Agriculture (BOA) for micro and macro credit loan facilities, inputs supplies, cooperatives groups, coconut development, agricultural services, agribusiness and others.

Registration for the training starts on Monday 17 May 2021, with a registration fee of N1000 and tuition fee of N1500. A discount will be provided for co-operatives with up to 15 members participating in the training exercise. Trainees are encouraged to form co-operatives that will be introduced to the Bank of Agriculture to gain access to loans that are available.
