The Osun State Government has flagged off the construction of a fruit juice production company to facilitate the processing of agricultural products in the state. The company is pioneered by Collins Crown Limited and is situated at the Omoluabi Free Trade Zone, Osogbo. This initiative is set up with the view of curbing post-harvest losses.
The company will use the fruits that the State has comparative advantage such as pineapples and oranges to increase production of fruits and their end products when completed.
Governor of the state, Adegboyega Oyetola, said that his administration is pushing its goal to promote sustainable Public-Private Partnership (PPP) in the state. Oyetola added that his government is committed to creating a business-friendly environment for investors, especially in the agricultural sector. Employment opportunities will also be created particularly for unemployed youth in the state. In order to support entrepreneurs, Governor Oyetola stated that they would be provided with the requisite infrastructure and also put in place policies that facilitate a hitch-free business experience.
Chairman, Collins Crown Limited, Mr Kola Adeyemo, noted that all facilities needed are on ground and his company is prepared to ensure that the project is completed successfully. Oyetola added that the government is committed to help the company thrive, as well as other businesses in the Free Trade Zone.
