Mohammed Adama, Ndidi Nwuneli, Daniel Mbah, Joseph Idiong, Ken Opara, Others Confirm Participation for Agribusiness, Food security & Nutrition Summit

…As BoI, Fidelity Bank Declare Support, an online news platform with focus on the agribusiness sector, with the support of The Office of the Special Assistant to Governor Babajide Sanwo – Olu on Agriculture, All Farmers Association of Nigeria, Association of Nigerian Exporters and the Association of Women in Trade and Agriculture invite all stakeholders in the agribusiness sector and its value – chain to participate in the summit that will bring senior policy makers, growers, off – takers, processors, warehousing, distribution and supply chain managers, equipment manufacturers, machine fabricators, agricultural inputs producers, agro based cooperatives, the academic, exporters, investors, lenders and business leaders in the agribusiness value chain together to discuss issues of pressing importance about the agribusiness, food and nutrition security in Nigeria.

According to the publisher of the online news platform, Amadi Iheukwumere, (click here to register) the summit themed: Meeting the Food Security Needs of the Nation Through Sustainable Agriculture will be a platform for insights, ideas sharing, discourse and networking for all participants. In his address, Amadi, stated that the one-day summit will feature three keynote speakers, three panel sessions and over ten panelists made up of seasoned policy makers, bankers, agro producers and processors, the academic among others.

He said that confirmed sessions keynote speakers are Mohammed Adama, Partner, Lead, Agribusiness, KPMG, Ndidi Nwuneli, CEO, Aace Foods and Ken Opara, Executive Director, Lagos and South West, Fidelity Bank Plc; while the panel sessions include, Advancing Agricultural production and Processing to Meet the Food Security and Export Needs of the Nation , Can Nigeria Meet the Nutrition Need of the Populace? Milestones, Challenges, Opportunities and Solutions and Attracting Investments & Agribusiness Financing: Key Opportunities, challenges and Solutions.

According to the organisers, over ten panelists drawn from diverse sectors of business and the economy have confirmed their participation and some of them include: Rotimi Fashola, Special Adviser to H.E. Babajide Sanwo – Olu, Governor, Lagos State, Jide Adedeji, CEO, Easysauces,

Victor Iyama, National President, Federation of Agricultural Commodities Associations of Nigeria; President, All Farmers Association of Nigeria. The organisers also confirmed that Bank of Industry and Fidelity Plc have confirmed their support of the summit which will hold on Wednesday, 17th August, 2022 at Victoria Crown Plaza Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos from 10:00am.

The Agribusiness, Food Security & Nutrition Summit will discuss what concerted actions, policies, synergies, partnerships and collaborations are required to actualize the nation’s food and nutrition security plan in other to put the agribusiness sector on a speed pedestal to create the needed impact towards the realization of our export potentials, increase foreign exchange earning capacity; food security and the nutrition need of the nation. 

‘Through special addresses, keynotes, focused strategic discussion sessions with distinguished thought leaders and subject matter experts we will unpack the main issues – production, off -takers, processing or value addition, warehousing, export, distribution, logistics and supply chain management and how they are affecting progress in our agribusiness, food and nutrition security agenda’, Amadi said.

The Summit will also offer participants the chance to forge a path forward to necessary solutions on issues affecting the nation’s production, processing, warehousing, distribution, export, investment and lending in the agribusiness sector among others.

The one – day summit is primed to close with a release of a communique on coordinated actions that governments and institutions should commit to and implement to achieve a considerable milestone in the Agriculture Food Nutrition Security Strategy, the Sustainable Development Goal as well as the opportunity to re – write our story on the agribusiness value chain front as a nation.
